Czechoslovak Microscopy Society
The International Microscopy Congress 2014 (IMC2014)
The International Microscopy Congress 2014 (IMC2014) is organized by the Czechoslovak Microscopy Society in co-operation with the International Federation of Societies for Electron Microscopy (IFSM). IMC2014 will be held in the Prague Congress Centre in September 2014. More information is available on the website http://www.imc2014.com.
The Czechoslovak Microscopy Organisation is a select voluntary scientific, pedagogical, technical and specialist organisation in the region of electron, optical and other types of microscopy. Affiliated for the purpose of the development and advancement of standards in the field, the organisation also concerns itself with the conceptual prognosis/assessment and promotion of results from scientific research.
The organisation fulfils these objectives:
- Support for the progress in all branches and applications of microscopy, instigating scientific and the popularization of science to the public.
- The advancement and prognosis of achievements, along with the organisation, elaboration and coordination of the collaboration between members in science, education and praxis.
- The contribution to the growth of the academic level of members, particularly those who are novices in the field.
- The organisation promotes the relevant associated bodies related to scientific work to stimulate development in the field.
- Maintains specialist expertise on projects involved with microscopy techniques and equipment.
The organisation is a member of the International Federation of Societies for Electron microscopy (IFSEM) and the European Microscopy Association (EMS). It collaborates with international organisations of similar goals.
